Casablanca — Moroccan intelligence services are in a state of alert following the leak of ISIS conversations in which the attack of several countries was discussed, reports Le360.
The conversations had reportedly been taking place on popular messaging service “WhatsApp,” between several members of ISIS, also known as ISIL or Daesh.
The conversations reportedly detailed imminent attacks on various European countries, not unlike the one carried out in Paris last November, which claimed the lives of 132 people.
Jihadists participating in this endeavor would allegedly be allowed to pick their target location, but would primarily focus on public places.
Though Morocco was not specifically mentioned in these conversations, Moroccan daily Al Massae thinks it should still be concerned by the inflow of possible Daech members into the country due to the situation in Libya.
Moroccan intelligence services are collaborating with European forces to look into these conversations, reports Al Massae, adding that Daech is allegedly carrying out these attacks in an effort to encourage targeted countries to review their military efforts in Syria and Iraq.
