Casablanca — HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived to Marrakech on Friday, November 11 ahead of the COP22 climate change conference set to take place until November 18.
The Moroccan Press Agency (MAP) released a statement on November 11 announcing Prince Albert II’s arrival to the red city.
Prince Albert II is set to participate in a high-level session during today’s “Ocean Day.”
The prince is known for his efforts in trying to protect the environment, mainly through his foundation, the Prince Albert II de Monaco foundation, which was founded in June 2006.
The foundation is entirely devoted to addressing the needs of the planet and the protection of the environment through the promotion of sustainable development and the support of public and private organizations that also serve the same goals.
The foundation’s principal domains of action are the following:
“To limit the effects of climate change and promote renewable energies;
To safeguard biodiversity;
To manage water resources and combat desertification.”
