“The two Heads of State welcomed the success of COP 22 and the African Action Summit in Marrakech which underpins the Kingdom as a strong advocate of African causes especially Morocco’s desire to promote development in Africa,” said a joint communique issued following the King’s official visit to Nigeria.
“His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari was happy to learn of Morocco wish to be readmitted into the African Union,” the source said, adding that Nigerian President “took good note of the initiative to create a Forum of North West Africa, and underlined the importance and the relevance of such a forum.”
Both sides agreed to deepen their discussion on this initiative which will be a flexible structure focused on concrete projects aiming at economic and social development as well as the achievement of sustainable peace and security, the source pointed out.
