After local authorities refused to help build a road in a small village in Tiznit, a group of women decided to take matters into their own hands and pave the way themselves.
As seen in the video, the women are shovel in hand, back bent, under the bright sun and face covered against the flying dust.
The women are breaking down the huge boulders blocking the road with their very modest tools but strong spirit.
In a display of solidarity and good citizenship, and proving women’s capability to take on the most arduous of endeavors, these women took responsibility of their small community and decided to get the work done themselves.
