Rabat – The Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) underlined that Morocco’s return to the African Union (AU) will boost the development of the continent.
AAPSO permanent secretariat said in a statement that the role of the AU is to join the forces of the African continent in order to face common challenges, adding that the current international context requires the resolution of conflicts gradually while respecting others and differences.
According to the same source, the African continent reached a high level of political, social and economic maturity and has now an international weight, which is constantly evolving, noting that the return of Morocco to the AU will contribute to the organization’s efforts aiming at facing these challenges and influencing world events.
The 10th AAPSO congress, held last October in Rabat, also expressed its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and lauded the autonomy initiative, which remains the best solution for the settlement of the Sahara conflict.
The Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization is a mass non-governmental organization with national committees in more than 90 countries in Asia and Africa, and has associate member committees in Europe and Latin America.
