Rabat – A new makeup tutorial is creating the buzz on social media again, but this time, for all the right reasons.
January 1st new website enti.ma published a tutorial for a particular kind of makeup. The video, called Flawlessness, starts like any other video of the beauty blogger’s. With a bright smile and a cheerful ponytail, Ines welcomes you to her channel and promises you a very special tutorial on how to cleanse your face without damaging your skin.
While upbeat music plays in the background, Ines starts wiping her makeup away with a gentle hand, slowly removing the perfect coverage of foundation and the glow of highlighter. It is only then, as the illusion of flawlessness starts to disappear with the cosmetics, that Ines’s faces start transforming.
Dark bruises bloom on her skin, covering her eye and mouth, one that is no longer smiling. Fixing the camera, face marred with evidence of abuse, words fill the screen: “6 women in 10 are victims of domestic violence in Morocco. Don’t hide your abuse, denounce it.”
The video come as a sharp parody of 2M’s TV show, Sabahyate, which aired last November, instructing women on how to cover evidence of violence with a make-up tutorial.
