Five people were killed in the shooting while eight others were transported to the hospital, reports CNN.

The shooter is in custody, Broward Country Mayor Barbara Sharief tells CNN, but no further details surrounding the incident have yet to be revealed.
“We have no evidence at this time that he was acting with anyone else,” Sharief adds. “He is currently in custody and we’re investigating.”
The airport’s twitter page earlier tweeted that there was an “ongoing incident” in Terminal 2’s baggage claim area, which has since been evacuated.
