Tangier – The overall activity by the Tangier Med Port grew by 8.7% in 2016 compared to the year before, said on Thursday the Tangier Med Port Authority (TMPA).
The global volume of goods processed by the facility reached 44.61 million tons in 2016 against 41.04 million tons in 2015, said a statement by the TMPA.
The traffic of containers increased by 5% for tonnage compared to 2015, thus reaching 31.48 million tons, it said.
As for the car traffic, the TMPA said that Renault terminal posted a growth of 21% compared to 2015. A total of 312,962 vehicles were processed in the terminal.
