Rabat – The Moroccan football squad gave their hopes in the 2017 African Cup of Nations a shot in the arm with a stirring 3-1 win over Togo at the Oyem stadium on Friday.
Despite an early goal of Matthieu Dossevi at the 5th minute for Togo, the Atlas Lions came back quickly to score the equalizer at the 14th minute through Aziz Bouhaddouz and double the scoring at the 21st minute through Roman Saiss, before sealing the match with a third goal at the 71st minute through Youssef En-Nesyri.
These three points are vital for Morocco before their decisive and last game in the first round against defending champions Côte d’Ivoire on January 24th in order to clinch their ticket to the quarterfinals.
In their opening game of the 2017 African Cup of Nations, held in Gabon on January 14 through February 5, Morocco lost 0-1 to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
