Rabat – Following Morocco’s re-admission to the African Union (AU) as a full-fledged member on Monday, the Moroccan delegation appeared expressing their joy by singing Morocco’s national anthem.
During its coverage of the 28th Commission of the AU summit, currently held Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa, Moroccan channel Medi1 aired the reactions of the Moroccan delegation who participated in the two-day event.
Medi 1 showed Morocco’s Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister, Salaheddine Mezouar. With him were the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, journalists and other members of the delegation. Joining the earnest singers in their rendition of their national anthem, was a pianist providing musical accompaniment.
Morocco will officially resume its seat in the pan-African organization, on Tuesday. The Moroccan flag will also be raised in front of the AU’s headquarters in recognition of the return.
King Mohammed VI is scheduled to deliver a speech on Tuesday in front of the African leaders at the headquarters of the AU.
