Rabat - A delegation of more than 80 Moroccan companies is undertaking a commercial prospecting mission in Rwanda, Tanzania and Madagascar. The tour ispart of the second edition of the "African Business Connect" operation, organized by Maroc Export in partnership with BMCE Bank of Africa.

A delegation of more than 80 diverse companies operating in several sectors and representatives of several professional associations, traveled to Rwanda on April 2, and are set to tour Tanzania on April 5 and Madagascar on April 7.
The commercial tour was initiated to accompany Moroccan companies on their commercial prospecting efforts. It also promotes the “Made in Morocco” offer, this year focused on Eastern and Southern Africa. It follows a successful first edition in 2015 in Senegal and Mali.
The tour represents an opportunity for Moroccan companies to discover regions with great potential for their international development, drawing on the expertise and support of the two partners who initiated this event.
The second edition’s program provides business to business meetings (B to B) between Moroccan businessmen and their counterparts from the three countries.
A meeting was held by the partners two weeks before the initiation of the program to better prepare the Moroccan business leaders investment opportunities waiting in the host countries.
The meeting focused on informing the members of the delegation of the key sectors in the three economies, namely energy, ICT and the pharmaceutical sector.
It also raised awareness of the constraints related to the linguistic difficulties, as Tanzanians and Malagasies are Creole English speakers and it raised the issue of the absence of airlines between Morocco and the three host countries.
Managing Director of Morocco Export, Zahra Maafiri explained that the organization of this second edition is part of a public-private partnership conducted in 2015 between Morocco Export and BMCE Bank of Africa.
It was formed to promote the “Made in Morocco” brand, a national offer aimed at establishing trade relations and making investments in African countries.
Maafiri highlighted the contribution of her establishment in terms of supporting companies in Africa. She noted that 626 companies benefited from this program in 2016, which reflects, according to her, the growing interest of Moroccan companies in sub-Saharan Africa.
“African Business Connect” is a concept created in 2015 by Maroc Export and BMCE Bank of Africa for the development of Moroccan companies in Africa through a series of B to B missions, business trips, business meetings and business to consumer (B to C) missions in different African countries.
