Rabat – Fifteen people were killed and 1,637 were injured, including 79 seriously, in 1,242 traffic accidents that occurred in urban areas from March 27 to April 2, national police said.
These accidents were mainly ascribed to non-control of vehicles, non-respect of priority, excessive speeding, pedestrian and driver errors and driving under the influence of alcohol, the source pointed out in a statement.
Over 33,608 traffic tickets were issued by the police during the same week. The sum of fines paid by road traffic violators stood at around 4.8 million dirhams, the same source said.
