Rabat – Juventus has beaten Barcelona with a 3-0 victory during their Champions league quarter-final game, which took place on April 11 at Juventus stadium, in Italy.
Young Argentinian forward, Paulo Dybala, opened the scoring for his club at the 7-minute mark of the first round. The 23-year-old footballer then scored his second goal against the Catalans at minute 22. Dybala has now scored eight goals in his last games at home and has been heavily linked with a transfer to opponent Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
Italian defender, Giorgio Chiellini, scored the victory goal against Barcelona 55-minutes into the match. The Juventus vs Barcelona result was predicted by many football analysts and figures, including Barcelon’a Ivan Rakitic.
Croatian midfielder, Rakitic, told the press six days ahead the game that his team was not happy with the Champions League draw, adding that Barcelona knew that the Juventus squad would take this game seriously. He also admitted that Juventus is a flawless team, adding that they have great techniques and that this game will be a hard one.
For his part, former Italian midfielder, Demetrico Albertini, warned his former team, Barcelona, of the seriousness of his opponent, showing his support for Barcelona’s players by saying that his heart would be with them during their game against Juventus. The 45-year-old former footballer had also revealed the Italian team’s strategy to help the Barcelona squad be aware of what they would face.
Barcelona’s key star, Lionel Messi did not see his wishes fulfilled. Messi had hoped to score his first goal against Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who has been exhibiting excellent goalkeeping techniques this season.
Barcelona rival, Real Madrid, is set to play against Bayern Munich Wednesday at the Allianz Arena stadium, in Munich. Will Zinedine Zidane and his team be able to refute the negative expectations of the press and footballers ? That is a question for tomorrow.
