Rabat – Just 24 hours after his release from prison in Paris, Moroccan mega star singer, Saad Lamjarred, made his first public appearance.
In a video posted on Youtube on Saturday, Lamjarred is seen surrounded by friends cheering for his liberty.
A few hours ago Lamjarred posted on a message on Facebook. He thanked his friends and fans for their support throughout his time in prison.
‘’Thank God Almighty. I can’t express how happy I am to come back to my dear parents and family, my friends and precious fans who stood by me from the beginning. Sorry I made you go through all this,” reads the message posted in Arabic.
The post went on to say, “I thank my fellow artists who shared with my parents every painful moments. I can’t thank you enough…my motto will always be: God, Country, King.”
Fans stormed their favorite singer’s Facebook page, expressing their joy at the news of his release and interacting with his post.
Lamjarred’s release came after several months spent in Fleury-Merogis prison in France after being accused of beating and sexually assaulting a young French lady last October.
The Moroccan star was released under electronic surveillance which means he has to remain in France while awaiting trial.
