19 People Killed in Road Accidents in Morocco’s Urban Areas Last Week

18 People Killed in Urban Road Accidents in Morocco Last Week

Rabat – Nineteen people were killed and 1,588 were injured, including 72 seriously, in 1,230 traffic accidents that occurred in urban areas on April 10-16, national police said.

These accidents were mainly ascribed to non-control of vehicles, non-respect of priority, excessive speeding, pedestrian and driver errors and driving under the influence of alcohol, the source pointed out in a statement.

Over 39,859 traffic tickets were issued by the police during the same week. The sum of fines paid by road traffic violators stood at around 5.6 million dirhams, the same source said.
