Rabat- King Mohamed VI’ stay in Miami has made the days of many Moroccans living in North America.
Each time new pictures surface on the internet where Moroccans, who got the chance to meet the king and exchange a few words with him, recount the special moment of meeting the monarch.
Mohsine, a Moroccan expat in the United States, had a happy time meeting the king.
“We wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday, so we decided to go to Miami for the weekend to celebrate the anniversary”, said Mohsine to a Moroccan local news website.
He added that he, his wife and daughter headed to Miami not knowing that “this year’s anniversary would be special”.
Once in Miami, “we heard that the king was in Miami South Beach, so we went there hoping to meet him”, said the Moroccan immigrant.
“Upon our arrival the King Mohamed VI came down to meet us. We were a bunch of people waiting for him”, added Mohsine.
The Moroccan expat said the king welcomed us and urged us to stick to our roots when a lady addressed him in English.
When it was Mohsine and his family’s turn to talk to the king and take a picture with him, the Moroccan was pleased to chat with the monarch, for whom he holds deep love and respect.
“My daughter seemed happy when I asked her who he was and she said, “he’s the king daddy”,” said Mohsine describing the king as a “good-hearted and down-to-earth person”.
