Rabat - In accordance with King Mohammed VI's instructions, Salaheddine Mezouar, Former Minister of Foreign affairs, and Hakima El Haite, Former Minister Delegate in Charge of Environment of the Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, will continue their duties as "President of COP22" and "High Level Climate Champion" respectively.
Rabat – In accordance with King Mohammed VI’s instructions, Salaheddine Mezouar, Former Minister of Foreign affairs, and Hakima El Haite, Former Minister Delegate in Charge of Environment of the Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, will continue their duties as “President of COP22” and “High Level Climate Champion” respectively.
According to a press conference held by Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, the King praised Mezouar and El Haite for their intense efforts during the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations (COP22).
The same source added that their professional qualities will enable them to ensure the continuity and follow-up of the implementation of COP22’s recommendations.
The conference, which took place in Marrakech in 2016, was attended by hundreds of international presidents and representatives from member states to follow up the implementation of the Paris agreement signed in December.
COP22 was an opportunity to address several themes and challenges related to agriculture, food security, energy, forests, industry, transport and water.
