Rabat – King Mohammed VI met with French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee this Tuesday, May 2.
The two men were surrounded by numerous public personalities, known for their initiatives in strengthening cultural and media ties between the two countries.
After a one-to-one meeting, the French President and the King of Morocco shared a lunch with writers Leïla Slimani and Tahar Ben Jelloun, the islamologist Rachid Benzine, comedian Jamel Debbouze and judoka Teddy Rine.
The site of the Elysee has posted a series of photos of this memorable day, among them a very cosy selfie gathering Debbouze leaning into a smiling Mohammed VI and Francois Hollande.
The photos also captured the personalities present at the luncheon.
Around the table you can see French and Moroccan foreign ministers Jean-Marc Ayrault and Nasser Bourita, French ministers of Culture and Environment Audrey Azoulay and Ségolène Royal, president of the Institut du Monde arabe Jack Lang and that of the National Foundation of Moroccan Museums Mehdi Qotbi.
This luncheon also corresponded to the one organized during a visit by the French President to Tangier in September 2015.
