Rabat – The government will make all written parliamentary information requests, as well as their answers, available to the public, a government spokesperson told the House of Councillors Tuesday.
Written questions are frequently used by members of parliament to acquire information regarding actions taken by government ministers, including data which can not be obtained by oral questions.
Mustapha El Khalfi, the Deputy Minister to the Head of Goverment for Relations with Parliament, said that the government will make the questions and answer available in order to ensure that Moroccans are aware of all information concerning the parliament’s proceedings. He also stressed that this will not be an easy feat.
The measure will enable citizens to keep tabs on their representatives in the two houses and assess their activities, holding their legislators accountable on all issues.
This new service will put into action some of the most important constitutional requirements, including the right to access information and transparency.
