Casablanca – Morocco’s Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, has stated on May 22 that the a high-level ministerial delegation arrived in Hoceima following “King Mohammed VI instructions”.
Abdelouafi Laftit, Morocco’s Minister of Interior, held a press conference in the headquarters of Hoceima province, in the presence of the ministerial delegation upon its arrival to the northern city. The official said that this “is predicated on the instructions of King Mohammed VI and within the context of positive interaction of the government with the needs of the population and various protest movements in the region.”
The conference saw the attendance of a large crowd of the city residents as well as a number of political and civil activists.
Laftit stressed that King Mohammed gives a special attention to the region. He noted that this step “comes as a clear message from the government towards the legitimate and realistic demands of the citizens in the province of Hoceima.”
The minister pointed out that the government is committed to implementing the development projects announced in 2015 in the framework of Hoceima Lighthouse of the Mediterranean Plan with an investment of MAD 6.5 billion. He explained that the government would oversee the progress of the projects and workshops and overcome the obstacles that stood in front of this plan, set to extand until 2019.
The ministerial delegation includes Abdelouafi Laftit, Mohamed Laaraj, Minister of Culture and Communication, El Houcine Louardi, Health Minister, Mohamed Hassad Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, Aziz Akhannouch, Minister for Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests and others.
