Rabat – The Africa Design Organization has launched the 2017 Africa Design Award competition, which rewards the best talents of the African continent’ designers.
Organized in coordination with the World Design Organization, the competition aims at gathering together African designers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and anyone else involved in design and innovation initiatives in order to encourage them and reward their efforts and contributions to the development of the African continent.
Candidates will be competing over six prestigious awards, including First Prize by World Design Organization/WDO, Concept Prize by If Design Awards, and Young Designer Prize by Salone Satellite Milano.
“The role of the committee is to support, support, disseminate, publicize and diffuse the projects and talents of the Africa Design Award throughout the world,” said the organization in a press release.
The jury committee will be chaired by Ralph Wiegmann, President of the IF Design Awards. The competition results will be announced on June 28.
Founded by designer Hicham Lahlou, the Africa Design Organization aims to enhance and value design and innovation in Africa.
Designers have to register online at the organization’s HYPERLINK “http://www.africadesignaward.org/”official website. The registration deadline is June 20.
