Rabat – Direct flights from Casablanca and Qatar are still operational, announced Royal Air Maroc (RAM) in a communique on June 8, following the diplomatic crisis between Qatar and many Gulf countries that wreaked havoc in airline traffic.
“Royal Air Maroc wishes to point out to its clients that all its flights to Doha are operating normally. Its five weekly frequencies are maintained,” stated the Moroccan airline company in a statement.
The airline said it will continue to offer connections beyond Doha in partnership with Qatar Airways, except for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, UAE and Egypt.
On Monday, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, Maldives and the United Arab Emirates broke off diplomatic relations with Qatar. Since then, all flights between the six countries and Qatar have gradually been affected.
Royal Air Maroc was forced to suspend its flights due to the cancellation of the airlines linking these countries to Qatar.
“Because of the suspension of all flights from Doha (Qatar) to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Maldives, Bahrain and Egypt, Royal Air Maroc announces that it can no longer provide flights to these countries, with a transit to Doha airport,” the Moroccan company said in a statement.
RAM explained that the direct lines between Morocco and these countries are always ensured. “The airline between Casablanca and Doha is operational, and the direct flights of the Moroccan national airline linking the Kingdom of Morocco to Egypt and Saudi Arabia will normally operate,” said the RAM.
Customers affected by cancellations can schedule their trips on new flights. For further information, the company invites them to contact its services on 089000 0800 (Morocco) or +212522489797 (international).
The Casablanca-Doha line will not be subjected to any emergency reorganization, as diplomatic relations between Morocco and Qatar remain open. The air links have thus been maintained.
“Royal Air Maroc apologizes to the customers concerned for the inconvenience caused by this situation beyond its control,” the company concludes.
