Rabat – The Ministry Delegate in charge of Public Affairs and Governance has announced that it is satisfied with the supply coverage of the demand for all foodstuffs throughout Morocco without exception.
The statement came following a meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee charged with tracking the supply of markets and the prices of basic commodities and controls during the month of Ramadan, which took place on June 8 in Rabat.
In a communiqué, the ministry expressed satisfaction with its coverage of foodstuff demands throughout Morocco.
Based on data assembled for this period of Ramadan, the Committee recorded a remarkable stability for the prices of all foodstuffs and the decline in prices of some of the vegetables and fruits.
The joint monitoring committees overseen by governors and other state officials monitored 24,473 points of sale during this period and took notes of 1463 price violations. A summary of these violations has been made available to the courts.
During the first 12 days of Ramadan, the local joint committees destroyed 53 tons of foodstuffs. This quantity includes 16 tons of meat and fish, 6 tons of beverages and juices, 6 tons of flour and its derivatives, 6 tons of dates, 4 tons of milk and its products and 15 tons of the most consumed foodstuff such as honey, Moroccan candies, vegetables, fruits, oils, and so on.
