Rabat – Famous French Moroccan rapper, Laouni Mouhid, a.k.a “La Fouine,” has donated part of his Mawazine Music Festival pay to children’s orphanage, Lalla Hasnaa, in Casablanca.
Back in May, during a press conference at Mawazine, La Fouine had promised to donate part of what he would earn from the festival to an orphanage.
“As I promised last month during the press conference, I’m currently at the orphanage Lala Hasnaa,” reads a post on La Fouine’s official Facebook page. “I came to give part of my Mawazine pay to the NGO because the children need it more than I do…”
La Fouine is one of France’s most prominent rappers of immigrant background.
He has earned a couple of awards and nominations for several music awards, including MTV Europe and Victoires de la musique.
A proud Moroccan, he has posted pictures on numerous occasions on social media of his trips to the Kingdom or wearing the jersey of the Moroccan football team.
Some of his video clips have been shot in Morocco where he is very popular among rap fans.
