Rabat – The Moroccan Research Institute in Solar and New Energies is collaborating with InnoEnergy from the European Institute of Technology this week in what will be the first edition of the “Green Africa Innovation Booster.” The program will be held in Marrakesh on July 12-13th and aims to encourage sustainable, green energy innovation throughout Africa.
By “encouraging the spirit of green creativity throughout the African community,” the Green Africa Innovation Booster supports energy research and innovation. Successful strategies and models from across the globe will be presented from more than 100 startups. The event offers exhibition spaces for startups, and an international jury will select the top three.
The GreenAIB team states that the event is focused around four pillars: to confer with and finance startups, to create a village of sustainable innovation, to hold pitching sessions, and to host a competition “to reward research and innovation in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency, smart grids, sustainable mobility,” and the future of Africa.
