Rabat – Mohammed Hassad, the Minister of National Education, affirmed on Tuesday that the ministry has approved 23,000 transfer requests made by permanent teacher applicants seeking to move to schools in different provinces during the 2017-2018 school year.
During an oral questions and answer session at the House of Representatives, Hassad said that 23,000 out of 32,000 transfer requests were approved by the ministry, including 5,800 requests made by women teachers in order to join their husbands who work in other regions.
The ministry added that 4681 of these requests were made by primary schools teachers. Hassad also noted that the ministry cannot respond to all the requests due to the accumulation of applications made in past years. He added that the ministry will do its utmost to meet the largest number of these requests, which reached 51,463 transfer requests in 2017.
Answering one of the questions asked by a member of the Justice and Development Party (PJD), Hassad said that appointments within the ministry are subject to the laws and regulations, as is the case in all other departments.
