Rabat – Al Qorb Hospital in the central Morocan province of Midelt opened on Friday following instructions from Minister of Health, El Hossien El Ouardi, announced a press release by the Health Ministry on July 28.
Situated in Er-Rich, a town 66 kilometers away from Errachidia, the hospital was built on a land of 40.000 square meters. A budget of MAD 76,534,554 was allocated to the hospital’s construction and its equipment.
The hospital features a maternity section, childcare section, an Emergency room, two radiotherapy rooms and a surgical section. It also comprises of four external consultation rooms, a sterilization unit and a reception room.
The hospital’s laboratory is equipped with sophisticated equipment. The premises also house a pharmacy, morgue and autopsy room.
More than 122,000 people from the districts of Imlichel (a small town in Midelt Province) and Er-Rich will benefit from Al Qorb’s services.
The new hospital is part of the ministry’s policy to make medical and therapeutic services accessible to all people in Midelt Province.
“[El Qorb] is an additional medical building to enhance and promote the health sector in the area of Daraa-Tafiallet after the inauguration and operation of the new regional hospital and a local medical center in Kalaat M’Gouna, a city in Tinghir Province,” said the ministry.
The health ministry also announced the construction of a provincial medical center in Tinghir and that the construction of another hospital in Boumalne Dades, a town in Tinghir Province in Draa-Tafilalet region will soon be launched.
