Rabat – Three Saudi men were sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday for raping and assaulting a Moroccan woman in Dubai on January 20. The court’s verdict remains subject to appeal for a 14-day period.
According to Emirati news platform The National, the rapists were aged between 24 and 27.
The 32-year old victim explained that she met the men in a club. “We spoke for a while and I told them I was heading to another club but they invited me to their place in Al Muraqqabat,” and said “alcohol was available.”
She added that after they drink together, one of the men held her down with a pillow and raped her, asking her “to be quiet and let him and his brothers finish it quietly.”
The victim went on to add that the two other men joined the first rapist after he was done. She added that he asked her to “please” her other rapists. Two of the rapists were brothers, added The National.
The news outlet added that the trio packed up their belongings and left the victim at the apartments. Minutes later, the men returned and caught the woman trying to call the police.
“One of them snatched the phone out of my hand then they all left,” said the victim.
A medical report affirmed DNA found on the woman’s body and belongings matched those of the trio, according to the news platform.
