Rabat – Khalid El Wahi, the head of protection of Crown of Prince Moulay Hassan died of a heart attack on Saturday.
Media outlets gave conflicting details over location of his death.
Some said the deceased police prefect suffered a heart attack in his hotel room in the northern city of Tetouan and was found dead there and that there suspicious physical marks on his body.
The same sources added his death was discovered when he did not answers several calls, and that high security officials rushed to the place when his death was announced.
Others said El Wahi was emergently taken to the military hospital in Rabat, yet he could not be saved.
The deceased is expected to be buried on Sunday at the Echouhada cemetery in Rabat.
Meanwhile, an investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of El Wahi’s death.
