According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of National Security, the 25-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday in Fes. The statement added that the defendant has a lengthy criminal record and had been arrested previously for drug trafficking and robbery charges.
The footage shows the suspect attacking and threatening an old man with a large knife, while searching his pockets for cash.
The victim begs him to let go of him, saying, “See? I told you I have nothing. Please let me go.”
Casablanca’s authorities revealed that the suspect had committed two thefts in Casablanca before leaving the city, but the victims had not filed any complaint against the suspect. The defendant was placed in custody while investigations into the robberies are ongoing.
