Rabat – FC Barcelona’s Morocco football school Escola Maroc has named one of the club’s superstars as its new ambassador to the kingdom.
A statement issued by Escola Maroc revealed that the still-unidentified footballer will pay an official visit to Morocco September 22 to 24 in order to share his expertise with the academy’s young players.
The joint initiative also aims to provide Casablanca’s sports associations with training sessions in favor of young footballers. The school’s students will take part in a coaching session supervised by the school’s new ambassador, as well as an autograph session with the Barcelona star.
The statement added that the player and Morocco’s FCB Escola will also collaborate with various social activities, with the player expected to take a tour of several disadvantaged districts in the city of Casablanca.
The unnamed player has played for the Catalan club for four seasons and has won the Spanish Championship twice. The player also helped the team to win the Champions League cup and the European and Spanish Supercups, added the statement.
“The name of the legendary star cannot be revealed at the latest 72 hours before his arrival for contractual reasons,” explained Escolar Maroc.
FCB Escola Morocco has offered its training services to Moroccan children since 2015. Coaching sessions are being supervised by Spanish coaching experts and UEFA professionals. The school’s students have been trained using FCB Barcelona’s methodology, added the school.
