Cristiano Ronaldo to Spend New Year’s Eve in Marrakech

Rabat – An increasing number of Celebrities have chosen Marrakech, including football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, as their favorite destination to celebrate the start of the New Year and kick off 2018 on a high note.  

Among these celebrities, Real Madrid’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who seems to have fallen in love with the red city’s enchanting charm.

The five-time golden ball winner will allegedly spend the New Year’s Eve in Marrakech, along with his Moroccan friend kickboxer Badr Hari and his Real Madrid French teammate Karim Benzema, reported the daily Akhbar Al-Yaoum.

The Portuguese football star is a loyal visitor of Marrakech, a city that has cast its spell on the world’s most famous football player who once described it as “The City of Joy.”

His last visit dates back to April 2017, when he joined his family who was visiting Marrakech after being a week of rest by his coach, Zinedine Zidane.

During the trip, Ronaldo’s mother posted a picture on Twitter, where she was seen along with other family members, including Ronaldo’ son, Cristiano jr.

The family picture was taken while riding the famous Marrakech’s horse-drawn carriage, “Koutchi.”

Following his frequent visits to Morocco, it has been discovered that Ronaldo is investing in the country.

In February 2017, it was reported that Ronaldo is planning to buy a hotel in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. The hotel is reportedly located in the Ain Diab Corniche district, next to one of Casablanca’s giant shopping malls.

In March 2016, Morocco World News reported that Ronaldo would build the premier first-class African hotel for international celebrities in Marrakech. The hotel’s complex will include a store for Ronaldo’s brand, CR7, his first fashion outlet in Africa.
