The medical caravan provided more than 4850 inhabitants of the Inezgane-Ait-Melloul region with medical check-ups and free medications.
Rabat – The delegation for the ministry of health organized a medical caravan in the Inezgane-Ait-Melloul prefecture for the inhabitants of the Lqliaa community, 23 kilometers from Agadir.
The caravan provided health awareness-raising campaigns and free medical check-ups for more than 4850 beneficiaries.
The mission runs from May 3 through May 5, in partnership with the regional commission for human development of the Souss-Massa region, and other local bodies.
The initiative acts on a cooperation agreement with the regional health directorate of the Souss-Massa region entered with local civil societies within the framework of boosting healthcare services at both regional and national levels.
For this purpose, the regional directorate mobilized more than 60 professionals, doctors, and general practitioners, nurses and administrative and technical personnel, along with medical equipment.
The diagnoses included areas relating to gastroenterology, endocrinology, gynecology, pulmonology, pediatrics, dermatology, rheumatology, orthopedics, dentistry, ophthalmology, and general medicine.
Among the laboratory analyses conducted include 341 check-ups of diabetes, 374 ultrasound scans. The caravan also provided a considerable number of consultations, including 145 on gastroenterology, 130 on dermatology, 181 on diabetes, 213 checkups for women, 223 for children, 166 on Rheumatology and orthopedics, 120 on Pulmonology, 178 relating to dentistry, 500 check-ups on Ophthalmology, and 151 eye surgeries.
Patients, who reportedly warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated the initiative, also benefited from the free medical supply, taken from the doctor’s prescription.
