Police at Casablanca Airport Arrest 2 Brazilians for Drug Trafficking

The operation is in line with Morocco’s strategy to fight cross-border crimes.

Rabat – Police at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested a Brazilian couple on Thursday, September 19, for possession of cocaine.

The police arrested the two suspects after their arrival on a flight from Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Aged 20 and 27, the suspects were in possession of 210 grams of cocaine.

X-rays showed the couple having capsules of cocaine in their stomachs.

Police put the suspects in custody for further investigation into the circumstances of the case.

The arrests are part of Morocco’s strategy to fight cross-border crimes.

The wali (governor) of Morocco’s judicial police said on Thursday that Morocco’s security services had seized 44 kilograms of cocaine in the first nine months of 2019.
