The codeshare agreement entered into force on December 26, 2019.
Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and American Airlines are satisfied with the newly signed codeshare agreement, extolling its strategic importance for both airlines.
A working meeting on the signing of the agreement convened President of Royal Air Maroc(RAM) Hamid Haddou with vice-president of American Airlines Vasu Raja on Wednesday, January 15 in Casablanca.
Both the airline officials underlined that the codeshare agreement establishes “solid ties of cooperation” between the two companies.
A codeshare agreement allows two or more airlines to share the same flight.

The agreement is also part of RAM’s plan to join the Oneworld Alliance. American Airlines is a founding member of the global airline group.
Addou described the signing of the partnership as “strategic,” emphasizing that it represents a “real boost to Morocco’s tourism.”
“This agreement will allow us to develop our traffic and facilitate access to the networks of the two companies,” Addo argued.
Raja for his part said that American Airlines is “very pleased to conclude this agreement with RAM.”
The agreement will allow both companies to work in “win-win perspective to ensure a diversified and integrated offer that meets the permanent and growing needs of our customers,” he said.
The agreement entered into force on December 26.
Royal Air Maroc serves dozens of international flights, connecting Morocco with many countries across the world.
The carrier is also set to join the One World Alliance group in 2020.
“It will start flying alongside some of the biggest and best brands in the airline business,” according to One World website.
