A video appearing to show Ayach in a UAE court went viral earlier this year, suggesting her arrest.
Rabat – Police in the UAE are still searching for Moroccan Instagram “influencer” Aicha Ayach, who is the subject of an international arrest warrant from Morocco.
Recently, a viral video on social media suggested that Dubai police had arrested Ayach. The video appears to show Ayach in a UAE court.
The Moroccan national, who lives in the UAE, is allegedly involved in the infamous “Hamza mon bb” affair.
Hamza mon bb is a set of social media accounts, which had been active since 2016, on Instagram and Snapchat. The accounts share indecent photos, information, and videos targeting celebrities for blackmail purposes.
Sources close to the dossier denied that Dubai police had arrested Ayach. French language news outlet in Morocco Le360 said that police in the UAE are still looking for the suspect.
Ayach has not updated her social media accounts or Instagram since January 4.
So far, police have arrested six people for their alleged involvement in the Hamza mon bb scandal.
Police are also investigating Moroccan singer Dounia Batma and her sister Ibtissam for their alleged involvement in the case. The Batma sisters are now out of jail on bail, but they are not allowed to leave Morocco pending the investigation. Moroccan police confiscated their passports in December 2019.
