Results of the retake exams are set to be announced on Wednesday, July 29.
Rabat – Attendance rate during the retake session of Morocco’s 2019-2020 baccalaureate exams has reached 95.1% among students and 75.2% among free candidates.
The attendance rates represent a new record, the Ministry of Education announced on Saturday.
In a July 25 statement, the ministry said the exams took place in the “same atmosphere as the regular session.”
“All stakeholders respected the safety measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19,” the statement said.
The retake session witnessed new measures to combat fraud and cheating, the document added. During the retake exams, the ministry recorded 802 fraud cases. The number represents a 31% decrease compared to the retake session of the 2018-2019 school year.
Retake baccalaureate exams are available for all students and candidates in Morocco who earned a score ranging between 8 and 10 out of 20, with 10 being the passing grade.
This year, the exams took place between July 22-24. Corrections have already started, the ministry announced, and results will be announced on Wednesday, July 29.
The retake session represents an opportunity for students and candidates in Morocco who failed the regular session to review their weaknesses and succeed in the baccalaureate exams. In 2018-2019, the success rate of baccalaureate examinees stood at 65.55% during the normal session. It climbed to 74% after retake exams.
This year, the success rate during the normal session stood at 63.08%. It remains to be seen how much it will increase due to the retake session.
