Rabat – The Forbes Middle East magazine issued its “Top 100 Arab Celebrities” list for 2020, featuring three Moroccans.
The three Moroccans featured in the coveted, prestigious ranking are Asmae Lamnawar, Samira Said, and Abdelfattah Grini.
Samira Said ranked 23rd, followed by Asmae Lamnawar in 70th, and Abdelfattah Grini in 86th place. The three celebrities are all singers.
On top of the list came Egyptian singer Amr Diab.
Forbes’ ranking for the Top 100 Arab Celebrities is based on the number of social media followers, success in career, and humanitarian activities.
The magazine reviewed over 500 Arab celebrities’ social media presence. It selected those who have over 3 million followers for further evaluation.
The selection process gave the most weight to social media, Forbes explained on its website.
However, it also took into account the length of the celebrities’ showbiz career, in addition to their humanitarian activities outside of their domain of work. They gave the example of celebrities serving as UN goodwill ambassadors.
