Rabat – The world’s kickboxing league Glory decided to postpone Badr Hari’s fight to September instead of July 17, 2021.

Hari will face off against the 28-year-old Polish martial artist Arkadiusz Wrzosek.

The fight was set to take place July 17 in the Netherlands’ Rotterdam Ahoy stadium.

Glory 78 tweeted the news yesterday, stating that the fight will take place in September in the Netherlands to “allow fans the opportunity to attend.”

Glory vowed to release more details on the date and venue, which will host the fight.

Following news of the fight’s postponement, reports emerged that the decision to delay the match is actually due to Hari’s injury.

MMA Sucka, an all-MMA news outlet, reported yesterday that Hari broke his nose in a training session.

Other Dutch news outlets said that Glory is setting a new date for the fight to generate more spectators.

“We have to make a lot of adjustments and September is a better date. Everyone will be back from vacation by then and the Formula 1 will also be in Zandvoort on 5 September. It will be a great sports weekend,” CEO of Glory Kickboxing Scott Rudman told Vechtsport Info.

The CEO of the competition said that instead of securing only 400 or 700 fans, the venue can welcome between 15,000 and 30,000 spectators.

Badr Hari  promised his fans that he will  return to the “throne.”

He noted that the new fight is the first step that will lead him back to the throne following recent defeats.

“Before putting words on my last fight, I needed to give my blood, sweat, and tears at the gym,” he said.

Hari frequently shares videos and pictures with his fans from the gym in which he trains.

In December 2020, Hari lost a fight against the Romanian athlete Benjamin Adegbuyi.

Adegbuyi finished the fight with a knockout in Round 3.

Hari also lost bouts against Rico Verhoeven, known as the king of kickboxing in 2016 and 2019.
