Rabat – A training course organized by the Moroccan General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) for Burkinabe police officers has concluded.
The training course, which took place at the Royal Police Institute in Kenitra, convened 29 Burkinabe officers and was part of strengthening Moroccan-Burkinabe cooperation in the field of security.
The delegation of Burkinabe police officers was divided into two groups, the first of which included 24 police officers who received training over a month in the field of security and protection of VIPs.
The second group consisted of five officers who were trained in both theoretical and practical aspects of sports training.
During the training course, beneficiaries were taught a set of techniques and mechanisms that enabled them to perform their tasks effectively, whether in terms of sports training or protection field work.
Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security has contributed for several years to the training of security personnel from many of Morocco’’s closest allies on the African continent.
Captain Ahmed Isaiaka Drabo, the head of the Burkinabe delegation of the Republican Security and Protection Group, said: “This training constituted an opportunity to learn new techniques in the field of close protection that will enable the beneficiary officers to carry out their tasks in the field with more efficiency and professionalism.”
DGSN, whose expertise has been praised by many countries, enjoys a positive international reputation and its Royal Institute is widely recognized as a regional center of excellence in terms of police training.
Colidiati Hadi Daniel, a sergeant in Burkina Faso’s Republican Security and Protection Group, spoke of the strong security cooperation between Rabat and Ouagadougou.
“We came to Morocco, our second country, to benefit from training in the field of sports training, and since our arrival we have been well received, with great hospitality and great appreciation,” said Daniel.
He added that the Burkinabe delegation received “a great experience that will benefit us greatly upon our return to our country, and we will work to pass it on to our colleagues in Burkina Faso,” he further added.
