Rabat – Irish low-cost airline Ryanair announced on March 29 its  summer 2022 flights from Agadir-Al Massira airport, that  will connect the city to several European destinations.

Ryanair will fly to 28 destinations from Agadir this summer, with 19 new routes to 10 European countries.

Tickets prices will start at €19.99 (MAD 219) for trips from March to October 2022, booked on the company’s website before April 1.

The airport has two Ryanair planes, and the airline company aims to improve the attractiveness of the city of Agadir as a travel destination.

The new base contributed to the creation of 60 direct jobs since it was set up in November last year, according to a statement from Ryanair.

Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson highlighted the company’s willingness to continue “supporting the country’s economic recovery while positioning Agadir as a leading summer destination.”

The base connects Agadir to the Spanish cities of Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Tenerife South, and Valencia.

Travelers wishing to visit Italy from Agadir can choose among the following destinations: Bologna, Naples, Pisa, Rome Fiumicino, Turin and Milan Bergamo.

Flights will also operate to France: Paris Beauvais, Nantes, Perpignan, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Marseille.

Meanwhile, the company is set to link Agadir to Vienna (Austria), Charleroi-Brussels-South (Belgium), Baden-Baden and Weeze (Germany), Porto (Portugal), Krakow (Poland), Dublin (Ireland) and London Stansted and Manchester (UK).

The Israeli airline Israir also unveiled its summer flight schedule to operate two weekly flights linking Marrakech and Tel Aviv between April to October 2022.

Several airlines resumed flights to and from Morocco after the country lifted the travel ban on February 7.

Many tourism operators suffered from the constant border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic but as the country welcomes more tourists this year, they are optimistic about the sector’s recovery.
