Join on Telegram Rabat – Saudi Arabia authorities are introducing fines against anyone coming to perform Umrah without a permit.
People caught performing Umrah without a permit will have to pay a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals or $2,666, according to the local news outlet Saudi Gazette.
Saudi authorities will check all pilgrims’ permits through its “Tawakkalna” application by “matching it with the national identity, residence, passport number or border number.”
The application check-in will also compare the permits with the date specified for performing Umrah.
Many Muslims from across the world flock to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, a mini version of the pilgrimage to Hajj, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Saudi Arabia recently again allowed travelers from abroad to register online for the Umrah visa.
Pilgrims have to apply for the e-Umrah visa through three steps, including filling in the information on the Umrah program, as well as choosing the company that will provide them with services during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Umrah-goers also need to fill in their personal data, and electronic payment information, as well as attach required documents.
In addition, Saudi Arabia also issued new rules, allowing Schengen visa-holders to perform Umrah without obtaining a Saudi visa.
