Claus officiated the match between Iran and England in Group B of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. England’s national football team defeated Iran 6-2 at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
Yamashita is the first Japanese female referee to work in a FIFA World Cup and was also present as the fourth official for the Group F match between Belgium and Morocco.
Morocco defeated Belgium with an outstanding performance that garnered international attention and was hailed as “historic.”
Prior to their victory over Belgium, Morocco faced Croatia on November 20 and drew 0-0. Both teams received one point each based on the outcome of the game.
The Atlas Lions, according to Sports Mole predictions, have a chance to extend their stay in Qatar beyond the group stages depending on the outcome of their match against Canada in the World Cup Group F match on Thursday at the Al Thumama Stadium.
According to the same source, even though Canada has already been eliminated, the outcome of this match could have significant consequences for the North African team.
