Rabat – The market value of the Moroccan national football team has witnessed a significant surge, soaring from €227.4 million to an impressive €299.18 million.

This remarkable rise positions the team at the forefront of Arab teams in terms of market value and secures their second position in Africa, according to Transfer Market.

Morocco leads the pack in the Arab world with a market value of €299.18 million, followed by Algeria with €185.4 million, Egypt with €119.2 million, and Tunisia with €40.9 million, respectively.

At the African level, Nigeria claims the top spot with an estimated market value of €340.9 million.

On a global scale, England tops the ranking with a market value of €1.18 billion, closely followed by France with €1.14 billion, and Portugal with €920.5 million.

Contributing significantly to Morocco’s impressive market value is the exceptional talent within the squad.

At the forefront is Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, who boasts a market value of €70 million. The Paris Saint-Germain star is the most valuable player in the Moroccan squad.

Following Hakimi is West Ham United center-back Nayef Aguerd with a market value of €32 million. Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat trails closely, commanding a market value of €30 million.

The surge in market value can be largely attributed to the Atlas Lions’ exceptional performance during the 2022 Qatar World Cup. In January 2023, Spanish sports news outlet AS reported a staggering 77.2% increase in the team’s market value following their fairy tale journey in the prestigious global tournament.

Individual players have also experienced remarkable growth in their market value following their standout performances. Azzedine Ounahi witnessed a 328.5% increase in market value, reflecting his exceptional contributions to Morocco’s remarkable World Cup journey. Sofyan Amrabat also experienced a notable 150% rise in market value.

Additional Atlas Lions players who have witnessed substantial increases in their market value include Sofiane Boufal, whose value rose by 25%, Youssef En-Nesyri with a 25% increase, Walid Cheddira, whose value soared by 140%, and Hakim Ziyech, who experienced a 17.6% increase.

The outstanding performances of these players have attracted the attention of several prominent European clubs, further enhancing their respective standings in the transfer market.
