Rabat – In a blatant disregard for the terms agreed upon for the exchange of hostages and prisoners, the Israeli occupation has re-arrested 16-year-old Palestinian girl Nofoth Hammad, Palestine’s news agency (WAFA) reported.
Nofoth was set to be released on Saturday as part of the second batch of exchanged prisoners, according to her father Jad Hammad, who lives in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem.
He told WAFA that his daughter was subjected to assault by the Israeli forces while being transported to Jerusalem for her scheduled release. The situation escalated to the point where she was injured and subsequently transferred to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
Her father revealed that he was denied the right to visit her in the hospital and was left uninformed about her condition. Israeli authorities have reportedly removed Nofoth from the hospital and returned her to prison.
This has sparked genuine concern for her health, especially considering the circumstances surrounding her initial transfer to the hospital.
WAFA reported that an Israeli settler voiced objection to Nofoth’s release, potentially leading to her re-arrest.

Nofoth, who is the youngest child currently detained in Israeli occupation prisons, was initially apprehended two years ago under the pretext of attempting to assault a settler while leaving her school. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison at the time of her arrest.
Nofoth’s name had been included in the second batch of prisoners slated for release by Israel on Saturday, as part of a reciprocal agreement with Hamas for the release of 13 Israelis held in Gaza.
Hamas and Israel have agreed to a four-day truce in Gaza, which ends today, to allow for the exchange of prisoners and the entry of much-needed humanitarian aid into Gaza.
