Marrakech – We’re always on the lookout for the next big thing to strut our stuff in.

As the world turns and seasons shift, there’s a curious phenomenon unfolding in the digital realm of TikTok; the March and April Theories.

Origins of these spring theories

On February 12th, 2023, Tiktoker vaatsalya.c dropped a bombshell video exploring the intriguing “March Theory.”

This digital oracle says that February and March are the best months to experience the ups and downs of love, when couples either strengthen their relationship or break up.

In just one month, the video received an incredible 972,300 views and 80,800 likes.

Fast forward to February 28th, 2023, the same user was back with another dose of relationship revelations, dubbing it the “April Theory.”

The user painted April as a month of metamorphosis, often triggering significant shifts in relationships and even resurrecting past flames known as “sneaky links.”

The video received 47,900 likes in less than a month, and almost 1.3 million views, leaving us all craving more of their tantalizing insights into matters of the heart.

The March theory

March brings the end of seasons, closing chapters, and a symphony of farewells that echoes across the digital ether.

Many TikTokers vouch for it, saying that it has manifested in their own lives in meaningful and surprising ways.

For instance, Tiktoker Haley Hoffman Smith, posted a video on April 1st, 2023, where she said that “The general premise is that this March brought my own share of challenges and chapters closing. I was reflecting upon it and I was like this is so weird. It’s usually this time every single year that I have some significant relationship end or I make some type of significant change.”

March Theory appears to capture the spirit of change and transition, from friendships fading away to partnerships finding their end, and even the heartbreaking loss of loved ones.

Is there a scientific explanation for this phenomenon?

Research suggests that our behavior and emotions can be significantly impacted by the changing of the seasons.

In particular, the change from winter to spring has been associated with elevated serotonin levels, which are neurotransmitters that control mood, hunger, and sleep.

Psychology Today website states that a lot of people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a kind of sadness that usually appears in the winter and is thought to be related to less exposure to sunshine.

Can we use these scientific results to support the March theory?

The April theory

Is April truly the month of nostalgic reunions and fresh beginnings? According to the April Theory, it is!

According to this notion, possibilities for meetings with people from our past and exciting new endeavors also blossom with the arrival of spring.

On another note, SAD can leave us feeling like we’ve hit snooze on life. Symptoms include low energy, irritability, increased sleep, and difficulty concentrating; a serious case of the “can’t-even’s,” according to the National Health Center.

A breath of fresh air, a ray of sunshine, and a whole lot of positivity packed into one glorious month.

With longer days and warmer weather filling our souls with newfound energy and vitality, it’s like walking out of the shadows and into the sunshine.

On TikTok, one user jumped onto the bandwagon, sharing a video affirming the validity of the April Theory, stating that she has been seeing so many videos about this, and she can confirm this is a real thing.

Amidst a flood of similar content, she confidently proclaimed, “Ready for the April theory. It’s almost the time of taking your life into your hands, where you can feel the energy shift into something golden, tangible, and promising.”

In the comments section, voices mirrored the feeling, with remarks such as “Life just gets better from here,” and “I can’t wait.”

It’s a wild ride!

Whether we’re negotiating the turns and turns of March Theory or soaking in the sun of April Theory, one thing is certain; we’re in for a crazy trip this spring.
