Rabat – King Mohammed VI has issued on Monday directives to deploy a substantial medical aid operation for the people of Gaza. The aid package totals 40 tons of medical supplies. The supplies aim to help address urgent medical needs in the Palestinian territories.
In a statement, the Moroccan Foreign Affairs Ministry announced that the medical supplies include essential medicines and equipment for treating burns, surgical emergencies, and trauma care.
The statement from the ministry explained that King Mohammed VI, who also serves as the President of the Al-Quds Committee, has agreed to personally finance a significant portion of the aid.

Aid awaiting to be shipped
“The aid will be transported using the same unprecedented land route that was utilized for the food aid operation during Ramadan,” the ministry’s statement read.
The initiative reflects King Mohammed VI’s ongoing commitment to the Palestinian cause and his dedication to providing tangible support to those in need.
The aid deployment comes on the heels of previous humanitarian efforts, reinforcing Morocco’s role as a steadfast ally to the Palestinian people.
In March, King Mohammed VI ordered the deployment of more than 40 tons of humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza. The aid was deployed through the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, with members of the Royal Armed Forces overseeing the operation.

Aid shipments
According to a statement by the ministry then, since the start of Israel’s war on Palestinians on October 7, Morocco has been “the first country to transport, through this unprecedented land route, its humanitarian aid, which will be delivered directly to the beneficiary population.”
As of today, Israel’s relentless assaults on civilians in Gaza and the West Bank have resulted in the death of over 37,600 Palestinians.
