Rabat — The School of Hospitality Business and Management (SHBM), under Morocco’s University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), has been awarded EHL certification from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne– officially EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The certification makes SHBM the only school in Africa to hold the status, UM6P said in a statement.
A certified status from the world’s first hospitality management school marks a “major achievement” for SHBM and its ambition to become a “leading institution in hospitality education in Morocco and across Africa,” UM6P added.
Syrab El Malti, Director of SHBM, expressed satisfaction with the certification, noting that the status reflects the “close collaboration between SHBM and EHL over the first four years of the school’s development.”
El Malti emphasized that this status is also attributed to dedication from the students, collaborators, as well as the entire ecosystem, nurturing a sustainable, quality driven hospitality school.
“It marks another significant step forward in our mission to equip students with the knowledge, competencies, and, more importantly, the mindset needed to excel in the dynamic field of hospitality while having a positive impact on their community and beyond,” El Malti concluded.
According to UM6P, the accreditation provides its graduates and future students with the academic certification of EHL as well as the benefits associated with the status.
The statement added that this further renews UM6P’s commitment towards boosting SHBM’s potential, noting that research, adaptability, and innovation are part of the school’s culture.
“SHBM ensures that students receive an education that balances cutting-edge theory with tactical experience,” UM6P concluded.
