Rabat – Majed al-Ansari, spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Affairs Ministry, stressed that a resolution will be drafted in a preparatory ministerial meeting ahead of the Qatar summit that will bring together Arab leaders to discuss Israel’s September 9 “cowardly” attack on Doha.
Today, Qatari ministers will hold a meeting in preparation for the Arab-Islamic summit that will take place in Doha on Monday.
In addition to confirming the resolution draft, he also said that tomorrow’s summit mirrors the Arab and Islamic world’s support for Qatar against Israel’s cowardly aggression, and the “categorical rejection of Israel’s state terrorism.”
The summit concerns Israel’s brutal attack on Qatar last Tuesday, in which it bombed a building in Doha. Tel Aviv claimed the attack aimed to assassinate Hamas senior leaders.
The unprecedented strike comes as Qatar is playing a crucial role as mediator between Israel and Hamas with the aim of securing an immediate ceasefire to end the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza.
Jamal Rushdi, the spokesperson of the Secretary General of the Arab League, said tomorrow’s summit will reflect a message of solidarity with Qatar.
The meeting seeks to discuss the details of Israel’s attack on Qatar and its consequences on the country’s sovereignty.
Rushi also stressed the need for the international community to address and curb the IOF’s complete unhindered disregard for the international world order and humanitarian law.
Morocco has been among the Arab countries that responded in support of Doha against Israel’s attack, condemning the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.
In its message, Morocco also reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Gulf country in the face of “anything that may undermine its security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents.”
