Casablanca — Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, visited Dar Essalam High School in Rabat today to inspect the launch of the ordinary session of the 2026 national baccalaureate examinations.
The visit took place at the examination center under the Rabat provincial directorate. It offered an opportunity to review how the exams are being conducted on the first day of testing.
This year’s session includes several measures aimed at strengthening the credibility and reliability of the baccalaureate diploma, continuing the digitalization of exam procedures, and reinforcing mechanisms intended to ensure merit and equal opportunities for all candidates.
At the regional level, Mohamed Aouaj, director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training for Rabat-Sale-Kenitra, said the exams were proceeding as planned. He noted that more than 79,000 second-year baccalaureate candidates are taking the exams across the region, including 14,000 independent candidates.
The exams are being held in 292 centers across the region, with 4,400 examination rooms and more than 21,000 teachers overseeing invigilation.
Measures adopted this year also include arrangements for candidates with disabilities, as well as those taking exams in prisons and hospitals. Authorities have also stepped up anti-cheating efforts through awareness campaigns, supervision, and monitoring mechanisms.
The ordinary session of the national baccalaureate exams runs from 4 to 6 June, while results will be announced on June 17. The retake session is scheduled for 2-4 July, with results expected on July 11.
A total of 528,135 candidates are sitting this year’s exams, including 426,637 enrolled students and 101,498 independent candidates. Private school students account for 11% of all candidates.
